Indoor cycling is one of the easiest, most fun ways to add some low-impact cardio to your regular workouts. At MINT Studios DC, MINT’s newest location on Florida Avenue, we offer a state-of-the-art, 30-bike cycling studio complete with ICG-5 bikes and some of the city’s best instructors, which promise a killer workout.
Whether you’re brand new to riding indoors, a regular indoor cyclist, or an avid outdoor runner or biker looking to switch up your routine, MINT’s dynamic class selection offers something for everyone. The beauty of the ride is that its customizable to your fitness level, using the ICG 5’s Functional Threshold Power (FTP) technology, which measures how hard you can work on an indoor bike, and sets your wattage or power level accordingly. This allows the bike to adapt to your specific fitness level. As you train, your FTP level will likely increase, and you’ll be able to track how well you’re progressing over time. Our instructors coach rides using standard indoor cycling cues – revolutions per minute (RPMs, or speed/cadence) and resistance – but these bikes offer an additional piece of information to let you know how hard you’re working: a colored light that changes based on your speed and resistance. Of course, if you prefer to let go and train without all that data, the bikes offer the option to shut the color mode off entirely as well. MINTRide: A standard road-based ride featuring hills, sprints, flats and jumps, incorporating some coach-by-color elements
MINT Dance Ride: A beat-based rhythm-ride with on-bike choreography and arm weights, incorporating some coach-by-color elements
MINTFuze: 25-minute high-intensity ride using the ICG-5 coach-by-color technology, followed by 25-minute Power Playground floor class.
