Meet Pilates Instructor Agnieszka Antczak-Chung

Agni’s been teaching Pilates for over 10 years now. She was originally inspired to try it because of her dedication to music — spending long hours sitting and practicing instruments. She wanted to find a way to be stronger and have more stamina through workouts involving whole-body movement and mental focus.

Initially, she found the classes very challenging and exhausting. But after a few months, Angi knew Pilates was the perfect fit. She began taking both mat and equipment classes regularly and decided to become an instructor.

Agni’s Pilates classes at MINT truly have a flow — incorporating transitions between each exercise. She offers a combination of strength, balance, endurance, and stretching. It’s a true coordination of body, mind, and spirit. Her class also helps students to correct wrong posture and restore physical vitality.

“I have been enjoying teaching Pilates tremendously,” Angi says. “My clients who are taking my classes are helping me to understand what their body needs, how to move efficiently. In my experience, Pilates prevents us from injury and prepares you to go out to the world. What I also love about Pilates is that the whole body is involved in those exercises, and that’s what we want, as many muscles as possible with a minimum effort. We just need patience and persistence to experience all the benefits that Pilates is offering us in this challenging time.”

Brian Whitmore-November Member of the MonthMeet November Member of the Month, Brian Whitmore. Brian is a MINT regular and has enjoyed working out at MINT Dupont during the pandemic.

My experience at MINT has been wonderful. I appreciate the pleasant, helpful, and professional staff and the respectful atmosphere among the members. The club is clean and spacious and I especially appreciate how the MINT team has created a place where members can train safely during COVID.

Brian enjoys utilizing the cardio and strength equipment and views exercise as “meditation in motion.” Next time you see Brian in the gym be sure to give a socially distant wave and hello!
