We’re Growing the MINT Brand Ambassador Team

We’re thrilled to be growing the MINT Brand Ambassadors this fall. As a MINT Ambassador, you have the opportunity to earn a complimentary MINT gym membership in exchange for promoting MINT and generating leads. You get to work in a dynamic environment with like-minded individuals—connect with the community, plan events, collaborate with local partners, tables with neighborhood buildings, and do other outreach. All productive teammates are invited back each quarter.
Requirements: An outgoing personality, passion for fitness and living well, comfort and ability to approach people, and a basic knowledge of MINT Gym, we’ll teach you the rest.

Preference is given to those:

  • Who will not be out of town more than 21 days during the quarter
  • Those not available for more than 15 consecutive days.

We have a few openings for MINT Ambassadors as we close 2022. If you are interested, reach out to schedule a 15-minute interview in the next few weeks, but hurry as spots typically go very fast. Class Policy Reminder

We know you love our classes just as much as we do! To ensure that all members have the chance to experience our classes and to help our instructors properly prepare, we ask that you register with intent, and keep our class cancellation policy in mind. Make sure you check-in for your gym visit so we know that you attended! 

  • Class registration is 100% required. We DO accommodate walk-ins when space is available.
  • Class late cancellation fee is $5, with an 8-hour window for classes designated as [SELECT], and a 2-hour window for all other classes.
  • A class “no show” fee is $13, which includes late arrivals and cancellations made <10 minutes prior to class start time.
  • Late arrivals may not be granted access to class.

These standards maximize everyone’s opportunity to participate in class and are always available here on our website. (‘For members’, ‘Policies’, Appointment Policies’). If you experience an emergency that has led you to late cancel or no-show please reach out to our GM, Bresni, directly. Bresni can be reached by emailing Bresni@mintdc.com.

5 Things To Know Before You Try Reformer Pilates

Meg DiRuggier Using Reformer Pilates MachineWhat is Reformer Pilates? Reformer Pilates is similar, yet, very different from mat-based Pilates. Reformer Pilates is done using the Pilates reformer machine and is generally more intense and more dynamic with the use of resistance via springs which form part of the machine.
If you’ve never tried Reformer Pilates in the past here are 5 useful things to know before your first session from our Reformer Pilates trainer, Meg DiRuggiero!
  1.  Doing Reformer Pilates may seem intimidating but it can actually be quite fun! The equipment moves with you and, at times, is used to assist you in doing some movements.
  2. The Reformer is a resistance machine that allows for a full-body workout with less stress on the joints.
  3. During your session, you can expect to use the spring tension to both challenge and support your core and spine.
  4. Squat variations, upper body work, isometric planks, and stretching will all be included during every session.
  5. Attachments and other equipment will be used throughout each session to supplement the Reformer exercise.

For a limited time, we are offering FREE 25-minute sessions for both members and non-members with Meg DiRuggiero. Members can attend a drop–in session on Mondays and Thursdays from 5-7pm. If that time doesn’t work for you please reach out to MegD@MintDC.com directly to coordinate!

Facility Fee 2022 Update

Dear Members,

We hope that you are well! As we approach 17 years of MINT, our thankfulness for your business and support only gets stronger, and the community here inspires us every day. While the pandemic has changed most everything, we have strived to maintain MINT as a consistent, healthy, and safe retreat for you. During this challenging time we replaced the rooftop HVAC systems, further increased sanitizing work, and added multiple air filtration systems. We’ve also added equipment with more to come soon.
Please be advised that the annual facility fee will run on or about Oct 8, this fee covers a portion of our continuous efforts to keep MINT the best health club in DC.
We cannot thank you enough for being an important part of MINT’s recovery.

MINT Mat Pilates: What To Expect

MINT Instructor doing Mat PilatesPilates is once again raising in popularity and we’re thrilled to offer both Mat and Private Reformer Pilates at MINT.

For those that aren’t as familiar with what Pilates is, it’s a workout that is often performed on a mat or machine that includes many strength and flexibility exercises. Pilates encourages participants to focus on breathing and a mind-body connection with particular attention to how movements stem from the core. Often times Pilates workouts incorporate equipment including spring-based resistance machines. The workout can be tailored to a variety of goals, ages, and abilities.

MINT Mat Pilates is led by our knowledgeable trainer/instructor Meg DiRuggiero. If you’re new to her classes this is what you can expect! 

  1. Each class includes a thoughtful mixture of classic Stott Pilates moves and newer, varied Pilates sequences. No two classes are exactly the same.
  2. Remember that Pilates is all about strengthening the core through movement and isometric holds. This practice goes beyond the mat and allows you to strengthen and use your core to support you when doing a variety of other movements both inside and outside the gym!
  3. We will go behind the core! Other focuses include spine stability and mobility, glute strength, shoulder support, and overall muscle lengthening.
  4. Don’t be intimidated if you’ve never tried Pilates before or are new to MINT Pilates. Any new moves are very approachable with constant cues from the instructor to ensure you’re able to follow along.
  5. If something doesn’t make sense or if you have any questions your instructor is always available before or after class to offer support. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when or if needed!
