Dancing is an excellent way to get moving, get your heart pumping and have some fun. Check our dance offerings: Zumba, Doonya, WERQ, PILOXING, and POP Pilates.

Zumba
Zumba is a dynamic and exciting fitness program based on Latin and international music and dance steps. It’s fun, easy to learn and a great workout without feeling like one. With Zumba, the fun comes first and the physical benefits naturally follow. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. It targets the glutes, legs, arms, abdominals, and the most important muscle in the body, the heart! It is a mixture of body sculpting movements and easy to follow dance steps. No previous dance experience is needed to have fun with Zumba. All fitness levels are welcome.

Doonya
Doonya is the Bollywood-inspired workout. Follow along to cardio and conditioning intervals of varying intensity, activating major muscle groups like the abs, arms, and legs. The energy and expressions of Bollywood-inspired music and dance will keep you smiling as you burn up to 800 calories, all while learning dance and fitness fundamentals. By using your own resistance and muscle control, you’ll leave with a stronger core, lengthened limbs and increased stamina to keep you invigorated for the rest of your day. Doonya is your happy workout.

PILOXING
Piloxing is a non-stop, HIIT fusion workout of strengthening boxing, lengthening Pilates, and exhilarating dance moves to keep your pulse high and your spirits higher. Piloxing™ uniquely blends the power, speed, and agility of boxing with high-energy dance sequences and the targeted sculpting and flexibility of Pilates. Put it all together, and you have a muscle-toning, fat-burning workout that will leave you physically and mentally empowered! Participants can expect to burn up to 900 calories per class. No prior experience in boxing, Pilates, or dance is required, and all fitness levels are welcome!

POP Pilates
POP Pilates® is an incredible fusion of ab-chiseling and total body defining moves choreographed to upbeat pop songs. This intense, mat-based workout challenges students to rhythmically flow from one exercise to the next, developing a rock solid core while leaving no muscle untouched. This format takes classical Pilates to the next level like you’ve never seen before. While most POP Pilates® moves originate from classical Pilates; the class design, relationship with music, sequencing, and reps differ from reformer classes and traditional mat classes. The fundamentals of breathing, core engagement, and powerhouse-based movements are shared. Participants love that each 55-minute class is like a “dance on the mat.”

Belly Dance Cardio
This class fuses traditional belly dance techniques with elements of dance fitness to give students a core-focused cardio workout that is so much fun! All levels welcome, no experience with belly dance (or any kind of dance for that matter) is required.

MINT Dance—Hip Hop is a dance fitness party and cardio workout in one!

Featuring current music and hip-hop movements, this follow-the-leader format requires no dance background, just a willingness to get your heart rate up and have fun. Our interval-based routines will simultaneously improve your cardiovascular strength and deliver an incredible full-body workout! MINT Dance classes strive to make movement inclusive, empowering, and fun for all, regardless of whether you’re brand new to class or have been dancing for years. Movement isn’t about being the ‘best’ in the room— get ready to have some fun as you pop, lock and drop your way through a workout!

Jeannie Baumann
Jeannie BaumannDance, Doonya

Dubbed “The Queen of Cardio,” Jeannie is a master trainer for Doonya: The Bollywood Workout, which she has been teaching since 2010. As part of the Doonya team, Jeannie can be seen on The Today Show, Dr. Oz, WUSA9, The Washington Post. She also has performed at the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Fiesta Asia, Arts on Foot, at the Indian Embassy as part of Passport DC. Jeannie is an AFAA-certified group exercise instructor.

Maddie Roger
Maddie Roger

Maddie’s classes are sassy, classy and a little bad-assy. She brings her incredibly high energy to every session to make working out the most enjoyable experience it can be. You will walk away with an extra boost of confidence and a smile on your face.

Her class will kick your booty in a safe way that works for your skill level and pushes you to unlock a stronger version of yourself. She believes time is our only nonrenewable resource and if you trust her with yours, she will make it worth your while.

Maddie was a competitive dancer for 15 years and was eager to find a new way to keep moving her body when she entered college. She started taking Barre and Dance fitness classes at the university sports facility which she loved. Eventually, she also found her inner power lifting heavy things in a strength-based class. She went through instructor training her sophomore fall and has been instructing ever since!

She has always considered movement to be her medicine, and fitness taught her how to express herself, grow her work ethic and build confidence. Group exercise in particular led her to both personal growth and a built-in support system. As an instructor, her goal is to create a community where participants can see their individual rewards and also have fun and make new friends.
