Members, from all of us, a THANK YOU for all the congrats and inquiries regarding the upcoming MINT Studios. Since launching MINT the ride has had many ups and downs and has been amazing overall. Our unique concept and approach took root in 2005 and over the years we’ve fine-tuned our programming, operations, staffing, and leadership, and we’re looking forward to continue to evolve. A core part of our mission has always been to provide great jobs to great people, which in part means providing continued opportunity to the amazing people who make MINT work.
As we open our first studio this Fall, we continue to look at other opportunities to spread our good word. Growth doesn’t always mean more locations; we have been, and continue to invest heavily in the clubs in numerous ways to enhance the member experience. Our new class genre, called ‘Strength’, is launching with the signature class ‘FLEX’. Look for the first classes at the clubs in the coming weeks. We’re also investing even more in our people; pay and staffing for everyone from class instructors, to housekeeping to front desk service and beyond has risen substantially in the past two years alone. Also, look for a few physical changes in the clubs soon; for example coming this Fall will be increased stretch space at Dupont.
That all said, as we do grow in physical locations, it’s not done in a vacuum. Being a small business in today’s marketplace is an extreme challenge, the big boys in every industry try to steal away everything, including staff. Our leverage to keep great talent has always been our personal touch, which definitely isn’t going anywhere! To attract great talent is a different challenge, and to do that we have to make the business more attractive, and our studio expansion(S) (aiming to be plural soon) is our ticket to make that happen. We continue to onboard new staff who have top-tier experience, charisma, and talent; these staff will have roles at MINT across all of our facilities. Just one case in point: Roger Mack, our new instructor, who is also launching the Strength genre, and will be taking over for Liz as Intensity Director.
We are looking forward to the future and we’re glad to have you with us. Thank you for your support of the MINT mission!
Changing lives,
Patrick John
